Feather Mommy Angela: On This and That and Fashion

This week has been fairly uneventful. Mainly I have been in the studio working like mad because, well it’s wedding season. We have an amazing wedding coming up this weekend. One in which I work with another pregnant gal you may be familiar with: Lauren Chitwood. We have been looking forward to this event all year. It is going to be an amazing day with beauty abounding and the couple, well, we kinda adore the heck out of them. So far this week I have been working on procuring a Douala’s services, signing up for probably too many birthing classes (If you know me then you likely know that I prefer to be over informed), trying to still figure out what the heck we are doing in the nursery, working on planning a friend’s baby shower, choosing the perfect gifts for Amy Campbell’s little boy Ethan’s One Year birthday party and ordering books for the baby’s bookshelf (that we don’t have yet, but I am a big lover of books, so there will be one!). I am sure there are a few other things I have slipped in there (like ordering too many pairs of shoes of which will never even touch the ground, let alone be functional in any way, see picture of white patent leather high-tops below)

My favorite season is upon us, I absolutely love the Fall. I love comfy sweaters, layering (so many options!), boots, blankets, heated car seats, pumpkin pie, Thanksgiving with the family and October weddings are historically fantastic. Now being pregnant I find that those first two I listed, or fashion in general, is extremely limited. I am not going to be “pregnant in heels” so I won’t be dressing like it’s my job this Fall and Winter but it is still sad the very limited world of Fashion in which I now reside. Mainly I have been wearing my own clothing, as it works, and maternity jeans and black pants. But it is getting to that point where I need to invest in some clothing. I will still try and wear my own clothing, if it is at all possible and no buttons pop but I did break down and buy a pair of skinny maternity jeans yesterday (well they are expected in the mail this week). My plan is to live in them, fitted tops, cardigans and riding boots all season long (and as much of the Winter as possible). Switching out for Uggs when applicable (my feet will deserve Uggs by then, I am certain). There probably won’t be much variety except in my jewelry choices.

So I have been absolutely terrible about having my photograph taken. I somehow make time to take Lauren’s most weeks but not my own. Mostly because I am always hoping my husband will take the photo and he works so much and then I forget some weeks and …. excuses, excuses! So I thought I would post my 14 week photo that I forgot to post awhile back (I have posted 11, 13 &18) so you can see the progression of the belly over two months and also so you can see that I just have a gangly smile sometimes. The second photo was taken by me, with a camera timer, without any real lighting and from the worst angle possible (below). I would argue it is a snapshot more than a photograph but hey, I did it! Maybe next time I won’t wait an entire month.;-)And even though it feels like I have “popped” I clearly have not. Bigger belly on the horizon, I am sure!
