Swank Rockers for the Nursery

Now we aren’t posting these rockers because they are reasonably priced or in any reason affordable — but we do like to look at them!

This first suede and acrylic rocker is from the company Nurseryworks (which is the same company Angela’s rocker and changing table dresser comes from for Leif’s room). At $1,700 it is a bit of a splurge (and $2,300 if you want to supply your own fabric) but it’s pretty swank. I have a feeling it might be in Beyonce’s nursery since it matches her Nurseryworks acrylic crib!

The rocker above is another from Nurseryworks, a little more affordable than the one above but such a fun design! Angela has this rocker covered in very cool fabric (by Ellen Wilson Interior Design) that goes with the style of the room. Angela also had the seat cut down as it goes over the edge some, which is great for really tall gals but not so much for the ladies under 5’6. ;-)Otherwise it’s pretty lovely.

For the hardcore stylish THIS is the chair. A mere $6,000 but what a statement piece!

Or for a more eclectic chic there is this lovely chair. Looks so comfortable and absolutely gorgeous. I would tell you the price but it is “upon request” — which in the design world translates to “a lot”.;-)

Well there is a wish list of beautiful additions to any nursery. One can dream….

Wednesday Feather Mommy: Alice on Zoe….

I have talked before about my history of miscarriage. As a result of that experience, I became a part of a support group of some of the strongest group of amazing women a person could ever know. Today, one of those women is sending her baby girl Zoe, who was born with literally half a heart, into surgery. So, today, my Feather Mommy post isn’t about clothing or how pretty my kids are. Today I simply ask for you to pray – if you are the praying sort. I ask for thoughts….. if you are the thinking sort. I ask for positive vibes and karma… and anything you have to offer Miss Zoe. She is beautiful. She is strong. She is a warrior in tiny baby form…. And her parents love her very much. I know that I am crossing my fingers, my toes, and praying for a child I have never met…. and I believe in the power of that:)

So you know who you are thinking of…. Meet Zoe:

Feather Mommy Angela on The Wait

There is no sign that labor is imminent. In fact if I wasn’t keeping track of how many weeks I probably would not be quite as antsy. Overall I am having a pretty decent last month (36-40 weeks). Sure, I get what they lovingly refer to as “lightening crotch” from time to time (when baby’s head hits a nerve down below and down shoots an incredible sharp pain – ouch!), it is pretty hilarious to try and see me roll out of bed and I cannot say that I am not ready to be done…

I am so so ready to meet my little boy! Gary and I both are getting quite excited. Hey, 9 months is a long wait, we are ready! And our friends and family are clearly ready as well as the texts and phone calls are coming in — asking about how I am doing and if I think it will be soon. And what do I think? I think it will be 2-3 more weeks. I don’t expect to go early, not that I wouldn’t love to move this right along, but I am fairly content to just wait it out. It is quiet around the house, just myself and the husband still trying to prep things here and there and enjoying spending time together. We know it will be busy once Leif arrives on the scene so the quiet is nice but since we both like to keep busy we are suffering from a slight bit of boredom.

I am still hoping to post up some photos of Leif’s fun little wardrobe and it is my plan to take photos of some of my favorite outfits later this week to post soon.

Otherwise this is a pretty short post, just hanging out playing the waiting game!
